Rawlings was a bad example – Kabila

Mr. James Kwabena Bomfeh aka Kabila, former acting secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP),has proposed that the late John Jerry Rawlings is not a perfect example for Ghanaians to imitate.

Speaking on Rainbow radio 87.5FM, Kabila said being well vested in the political system of Ghana, he doesn’t have the opinion that the late lieutenant can be accredited with the the fourth republic.

Kabila is of the mindset that the late Rawlings was a bad example of a former president and had no option than to give up his power.

Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong, Kabila said, “In my honest opinion, he had positives and negatives. But his negatives were far more than his positives. He showed very bad examples as a former head of state. This is my personal opinion.” He then concluded that the late former president is a bad inspiration for the country.

Kabila noted that the former president failed the corruption test despite his claims to have fought corruption. He also described the late Rawlings as one who encouraged insults and therefore shouldn’t be seen as an inspiration by the youth of Ghana.

He further opined that everyone is entitle to his or her view about the late Rawlings but to him, Kabila, the former president’s deeds is not encourageable.
