Omah Lay and Tems have finally been released from police custody in Uganga as the Chief Magistrate Court of Makindye Okumu Jude at Makindye have withdrawn the charges leveled against them.
According to a letter sighted on social media, the court has ordered the immediate release of the two Nigerian artists from the Uganda police custody.
The order is to withdraw the charges placed on Omah Lay and Tems and the orders of the offense of negligent acts. However, with the exception of other acts negligent, other cases that are leveled against them counts valid.
Omah Lay and Tems were arrested and detained by the Police in Uganda for violating the country’s COVID-19 rules during their performance after a local artist, Babe Cool, reported to the police to arrest them for performing during the pandemic season.
This made Nigerian artists like Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, Rudeboy, Rema, Mr. Eazi, Simi, and others took to their social media pages to plead with Uganda authorities to release them.
