Jorge Sampaoli is set to become the new manager of Marseille on a contract until June 2023.
Marseille have been without a head coach since January after former head coach Ándre Villas Boas resigned from his post due to the club signing celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham a player he didn’t want at the club.
Marseille contacted Maurizio Sarri but reports say he turned down the offer since he doesn’t like taking over a club mid season.
Jorge Sampaoli is finally the man chosen to take over the reigns of the club. The Argentine tactician previously managed Sevilla in 2017, before he left after a year to take the Argentina national team to the world cup. After an abysmal performance, he left his role as head coach after the tournament was over. He currently is the head coach of Santos.
It’s expected that he signs a contract up to 2023 and turns around the fortunes of the club this season.
