Bank worker fell asleep on his computer with his head on the keyboard’s number 2 button, causing him to accidentally transfer €222 million to a customer’s bank account.

What could have been a harmless nap turned into a 222-million euro ($300-million) mistake for a German bank employee who fell asleep on his keyboard while completing an order, reports Agence France Presse.
The man was in the middle of transferring 62.40 euros from a customer bank account when he fell asleep and mashed the number 2 key, turning it into a transfer worth 222,222,222.22 euros, a German labour court heard on Monday.

A colleague of the employee who “verified” the erroneous order was fired by the bank after the mishap, which was discovered and corrected soon after it was made.

The court ruled the fired employee, who brought the case to court, should get his job back.
